What is NextGen Wealth Builders?

NextGen Wealth Builders is Flip-A-Heart's signature program connecting entrepreneurship, workforce readiness, and financial capability. Young people develop ideas, practice business and professional skills, and build confidence through hands-on learning.

Who can bring NextGen to youth?

Schools, DJS facilities, and community organizations can talk with Flip-A-Heart about bringing NextGen to the young people they serve. We begin with a conversation about the setting, participants, and goals to explore a suitable program approach.

What do students create?

Students work on entrepreneurial ideas and develop the materials to explain them. That can include a business concept, a plan for how it could work, and a presentation or pitch. The work gives them practice connecting an idea with the decisions needed to develop it.

Does Flip-A-Heart work with DJS facilities?

Yes. Flip-A-Heart works in Department of Juvenile Services settings to bring NextGen's entrepreneurship, workforce readiness, and financial capability experiences to youth. Facility teams can contact us to discuss the program and their needs.

What financial capability experiences are included?

Financial capability experiences connect money decisions with goals, budgeting, saving, and the financial side of building a business. Participating youth may also have opportunities to open bank accounts through banking partners with appropriate parent or guardian permission. Specific opportunities depend on the program and partner arrangements.

What happens at Pitch Day?

Pitch Day is a chance for youth to present their venture ideas, put their communication skills into practice, and share their work with an audience. At the most recent Pitch Day, $3,600 was awarded to youth founders.

How do organizations partner?

Start by telling us about your organization and what you hope to make possible for youth. Partnerships can involve bringing NextGen to a setting, supporting youth ventures, or connecting young people with relevant expertise and opportunities. We'll discuss where your goals and our work meet.
