01 / NOTICE & DISCOVER
Start with a problem.
Identify a real neighborhood need. Design a solution and validate the idea through conversations with potential customers.
NextGen · The flagship experience
Students find real problems around them—and learn to build businesses around solutions. Along the way, they prepare for work, practice managing money, and learn to make their voices heard.
Bring NextGen to Your School
The entrepreneurial journey
NextGen starts with what students notice in their own neighborhoods. Learning follows the work: asking questions, making choices, and putting ideas in front of other people.
01 / NOTICE & DISCOVER
Identify a real neighborhood need. Design a solution and validate the idea through conversations with potential customers.
02 / DESIGN & BUILD
Develop a business concept, branding, and a logo. Explore a minimum viable product—a first version that makes the solution tangible.
03 / PRACTICE & PRESENT
Learn public speaking, prepare a pitch, and practice explaining the problem, the solution, and why it matters.

Skills that travel with them
Students develop resumes and career roadmaps, build interview readiness, and practice professional communication. They explore pathways toward jobs and paid community work.
Students create personal budgets and learn banking and money-management concepts. Potential opportunities to open bank accounts through Fulton Bank and M&T Bank may be available, with parent or guardian permission where applicable.
The culminating public platform
Young founders present the businesses they have worked to build. It is a public opportunity to explain their thinking, share their solutions, and put their communication skills into practice.
